'7,000 Miles'

'7,000 Miles' is a collection of songs all written by Shane Flew.

Roughly described as Americana / roots music, the CD goes on a journey moving through styles ranging from pop, rock and roll, blues, folk, country Latin, ballad and western swing.

It was recorded at
'Superapple Studio' in the Sydney suburb of Petersham, New South Wales, Australia in the summer from January to March 2002, then mastered at Studios 301 by Don Bartley.

The album was produced, engineered and mixed by Matt Fell. Matt, who is himself a fine musician and singer, proficient on guitar, keyboards percussion and bass guitar, sprinkled his magic over every song on the CD. His other production credits include Shanley Dell, Jackie Bristow, Sam Hawksley and Butterfly 9 amongst others.

There are 27 different singers and musicians including Shane performing on this album. Some of whom travelled from Adelaide, Melbourne and Kuala Lumper to be on this record. Instruments featured on the disk include a wide range of percussion i.e. tabla, durrumbuka, djembe, doumbek, ungklung and conga drums. Also Hammond organ, Wurlitzer piano, melatron, strings and piano accordion mixed with a great array of acoustic and electric guitars, bass and drums.

Sydney based 'One Stop Graphics' designed the artwork for the album while Allan Brown and James Baker share the credits for the photography. The amazing imagery on the front cover is a PA truck parked on the side of the road between Mt Isa and Charters Towers in Queensland , Australia at sunrise.

'7000 miles' is the debut CD for Shane Flew and is a brilliant start to a formidable recording career.
